About Prospector: Search Tabs

Search Tabs detects when you’ve done a search from the search bar or triggered a default search from the location bar. After doing a search, you can quickly try that same search with a different provider. You can now switch to another provider with just one click.

You are no longer limited to what the page happens to provide as alternative search options — you can take the full customization power of Firefox to pick where you want to search next.

Prospector is a collection of experiments from Mozilla Labs focused on analyzing, experimenting and prototyping enhancements for how you search and discover content with Firefox. We’re focused on three main areas: websites you've visited, tabs you're currently viewing, and pages you haven’t visited yet.
